Job description

Material Handler

We are currently looking for a Material Handler to assist the distribution team with distribution of material, equipment, and supplies during outages and on‑line operations at the York, South Carolina site.

Qualifications

• Meet minimum education requirements: high school diploma or equivalent. Significant material handling experience.
• Be forklift qualified and maintain qualifications on various forklifts, stand and reach, motorized pallet jack, Ottawa operation, and other moving equipment.
• Operate complex and critical equipment associated with Material Handler duties.
• Complete basic rigging as required (as applicable).
• Maintain RWT qualifications and all required training.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs. (heavy lifting required from time to time). Have a valid state‑issued driver’s license.
• Preferred to hold a valid commercial driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proactively support Westinghouse and Duke Energy programs, policies, procedures, strategic plans, and specific goals.
• Possess good oral and written communication.
• Understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures and directives associated with working at a nuclear power plant.
• Commitment to personal safety and industrial safety.
• Assertive, self‑motivated, able to work independently or with minimal oversight.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all people practices. The hourly pay for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $17–29 per hour.
