Job description

Material Handler

We are currently looking for a Material Handler to assist the distribution team with distribution of material, equipment and supplies during outages and on‑line operations. Located in York, South Carolina.

Qualifications

• Must meet minimum education requirements – High School Diploma or equivalent; significant material handling experience.
• Must be forklift qualified and maintain qualifications (Various forklifts, stand‑and‑reach, motorized pallet jack, Ottawa operation, and other moving equipment).
• Must be able to operate the more complex and critical equipment associated with material handler duties.
• Complete Basic Rigging as required (as applicable).
• Maintain RWT qualifications and all required training.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs. (heavy lifting required from time to time) and possess a valid, state‑issued driver’s license.
• Preferred to hold a valid commercial driver’s license.
• Basic computer skills.
• Proactively support Westinghouse and Duke Energy programs, policies, procedures, strategic plans, and specific goals.
• Possess good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written communications, technical requirements, procedures, and directives related to working at a nuclear power plant.
• Commitment to personal safety and industrial safety.
• Be assertive and self‑motivated, able to work independently or with minimal oversight.

The hourly pay for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $17–29 per hour.
