Job summary

Westaff in Warwick RI is seeking a Material Handler for an immediate start. This on-site, full-time role offers a Monday–Friday 8am–5pm schedule and pay of $20 per hour.

Join a team focused on accuracy, safety, and timely material movement in a busy warehouse environment. Responsibilities include shipping, receiving, storage, picking, checking, loading, and operating equipment such as sit-down forklifts and RF scanners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years warehouse experience preferred.
• 2+ years forklift and stock picker experience preferred.
• Computer knowledge: Excel, Word, Outlook, JD Edwards.

Responsibilities

• Performs shipping, receiving, storage, picking, checking, and loading duties following SOPs and MOPs.
• Maintains accurate records and inventory balances.
• Operates equipment including sit-down forklift, stock picker and RF scanners.
• Maintains equipment, including safety checks.
• Complies with safety procedures and reports hazards.
• Keeps work area clean, safe, and organized.
• Meets production schedules by accounting for inventory and material movement.

Westaff is looking for a Material Handler in the Warwick RI area for Immediate Start!

Location: Warwick RI

Shift: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm

Pay: $20 Hour

We’re looking for a skilled Material Handler to join our team.

Job Duties

• Performs shipping, receiving, storage, picking, checking, and loading duties following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as well as Machine Operating Procedures (MOP).
• Performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
• Operates various warehouse equipment including but not limited to sit-down forklift, stock picker and RF scanners.
• Maintains equipment, includes performing safety checks.
• Complies with all applicable safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to the Team Leader or appropriate resource.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Meets established performance standards to ensure production schedules are met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of warehouse work experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of forklift and stock picker experience preferred.
• Computer knowledge necessary, Excel, Word, Outlook, JD Edwards, and Internet.
• Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes, including but not limited to: UPS WorldShip, Fed-Ex, Ship Manager and LTL shipping procedures.
• Knowledge of, and ability to promote, compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Skill in analytical thinking and problem-solving.
