Job summary

Oilgear is seeking a Material Handler in Traverse City, MI. You will load and unload materials, move goods across docks and manufacturing areas, and prepare finished products for shipment using trucks, forklifts, and cranes.

You will perform cycle counts, maintain inventory accuracy, and follow safety rules. The role requires 3–5 years in a warehouse or logistics setting, forklift experience, ERP proficiency, and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends.
  • 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or logistics; forklift experience preferred.
  • Shipping and receiving experience.
  • Experience with ERP system.
  • Certification to ride forklift truck preferred.
  • Must be able to work well in a team.
  • Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods; bend and lift heavy materials.
  • Operate computers and warehouse management software.
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good problem solving or troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and label materials, and record their locations in the warehouse/on the shelves to maintain inventory
  • Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying their location, then pulling, packing, and loading them
  • Operate trucks, forklifts, cranes, and other equipment to move freight
  • Perform and report cycle counts
  • Comply with all warehouse safety rules and guidelines

Position Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for loading and unloading incoming and outgoing materials and products. Prepare finished products for shipment, operating trucks, forklifts, and cranes. Perform and report cycle counts. Comply with all safety rules and guidelines.
