Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Material Handler for the 3rd Shift in Statesville, NC. The role involves receiving, storing, picking, and distributing materials within the facility.

The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am with an hourly rate of $19.75–$22.50 plus a $1.50/hour shift premium for 3rd shift. Ideal candidates will have at least 1 year of warehouse experience, high school diploma or GED, and familiarity with WMS and barcode systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent production experience required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse role.
• Experience with barcode scanning and system postings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules and orders to determine items to move or distribute.
• Transport materials between receiving, storage and production areas.
• Sort and store items by size, type, code, or other criteria.
• Prepare and fill requisitions and distribute stock to production lines.
• Assemble customer orders and place on pallets.
• Ensure accurate counts and weights for distribution.

Quanex is looking for a Material Handler to join our 3rd Shift team located in Statesville, NC.

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, picking and distributing material and products within establishment.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 10:00 pm – 6:30 am

Hourly Rate is $19.75 to $22.50 + $1.50/hour for shift premium for 3rd shift.

What Success Looks Like

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Transports materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, or other stock items and distributes items to production areas.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards
• Certified to drive material handling equipment. (High Reach forklift expertise a must)
• Transports stored items within the warehouse.

What You Bring

• High School Diploma or GED and/or production experience in a manufacturing environment required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse role
• High reach forklift experience is required
• Previous experience with WMS system is desired
• Experience with barcode reading guns and system postings/system records
• Experience in extrusion or process manufacturing is a plus
• High School or GED.
