Job summary

Interior Specialists, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler to safely move, store, and stage stone slabs, remnants, and related products in our warehouse.

You will load/unload, inspect incoming materials, maintain inventory accuracy, and support production and delivery teams while following safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in material handling, warehouse operations, or a related field.
  • Experience moving, storing, and handling stone slabs, remnants, or large-format materials required.
  • Proven ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, A-frame dollies, and material handling tools.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Safely load, unload, and transport slabs, remnants, and other materials using forklifts, slab handlers, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming materials in accordance with company standards and product-handling procedures.
  • Prepare and stage materials for production, fabrication, or delivery to installation teams.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, assisting with regular cycle counts and material audits.
  • Handle materials carefully to prevent damage to high-value and fragile products.
  • Ensure the warehouse and yard remain clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Follow all safety regulations, PPE requirements, and equipment operation procedures at all times.
  • Collaborate with warehouse, fabrication, and logistics teams to support efficient material flow and project deadlines.

Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, organization, and storage of materials within the warehouse. This role supports daily operations by accurately handling stone slabs, remnants, and related products while maintaining inventory integrity and adhering to safety standards. Attention to detail, situational awareness, and a strong commitment to safety are essential to ensure materials are handled properly and delivered on schedule to support operational success.

Essential Responsibilities

Preferred Experience

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in material tracking and movement.
  • Proficient in operating slab-handling equipment and warehouse machinery.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work on your feet for extended periods, and safely maneuver heavy materials.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with other departments.
