Job summary

Quantum Design in San Diego, CA is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to support receiving, storage and distribution for production. You will perform cycle counts, pull materials for kits, and move items to assembly workstations while maintaining bench stock and accurate records.

The role requires lifting up to 30 lbs, independent work and teamwork, with preferred ERP experience and Microsoft Office skills; 100% onsite, 6:00 am–2:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Two years of hands-on material handling experience in stocking-focused manufacturing.
• Familiar with storage bays, racking and FIFO procedures.
• Basic computer skills; ability to use e-mail and inventory/production software.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs; strong communication.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• ERP experience preferred.

QD instruments are found in the world's leading research institutions and have become the reference standard for a variety of magnetic and physical property measurements.Job Description:The OpportunityAs Material Handler, you will be responsible for the physical tasks involved in the receiving, storing, and distributing of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. You will work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is critical. In addition, you will receive general instructions on routine work, and detailed instructions on new assignments.ResponsibilitiesTransfer materials, equipment, kits, and supplies required for efficient material flow through production/assembly areas.Cycle counting of stocked itemsAccurately pull materials for kits required by manufacturingPhysically transfers material to assembly workstations, maintains bench stock and handles completed assemblies between work areas or cost centers.Locates and transfer parts within the facility that may be required for completion of assemblies.Verify and maintain associated stock records, logs, shortage reports and other documentation.Utilize small hand tools and may operate Material handling equipment including forklift, pallet handlers, skids, hand trucks, and the like.Minimum QualificationsTwo years of hands-on material handling experience in a stocking focused production or manufacturing environment.Experience with storage bays, racking systems, following inventory control processes, and FIFO procedures.Basic computer skills, including the ability to use E-Mail, enter data, and navigate inventory or production software.Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.Preferred QualificationsExperience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.5S and LEAN Manufacturing experience.Additional InformationThis position’s work mode is 100% onsite.
