Job summary

GXO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Material Handler in San Antonio, TX to support daily operations by moving materials and inventory within the facility.

You will use hand trucks, conveyors, and other equipment to assist with packing, labeling, and scanning orders while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The role requires a basic ability to perform math, read safety and procedural documents, and work well in a team with a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to perform basic math with or without a calculator.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

• Move material and inventory throughout the facility to support operations.
• Use hand trucks, conveyors or other material handling equipment.
• Assist with packing, scanning, kitting or counting products.
• Verify orders, label products and use a handheld scanner.
• Adhere to the 7S program and keep the work area clean at all times.
• Maintain safety and protect team members while performing duties.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support operations by moving material and inventory throughout the facility
• Use hand trucks, conveyors or other material handling equipment
• Perform duties that may include packing, scanning, kitting or counting products
• Verify orders, label products and use a handheld scanner
• Adhere to the 7S program
• Maintain a clean environment at all times
• Work in a safe manner that protects you and your team members

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• To be at least 18 years of age
• The ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedural documents

It’d be great if you also have:

• 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime when needed
• Experience using a handheld scanner
• Positive attitude and the ability to work in a team to achieve goals and objectives

This job requires the ability to:

• Lift objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, sit or walk for prolonged periods of time
• Bend, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull
• Handle or manage tools or equipment
• Tolerate hot or cold warehouse environments
