Job summary

Bio-Rad Laboratories in Richmond, CA is seeking a Material Handler to support distribution operations, including picking, packing, box making, palletizing, and shipping verification.

You will work in a fast-paced warehouse, lift up to 50 lbs, operate forklifts and RF scanners, and follow safety rules while meeting daily shipping goals.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years warehouse experience.
  • Basic warehouse understanding of layout and distribution functions.
  • Basic computer skills with a warehouse management system including RF scanning device.
  • Ability to work in a paced environment while moving upright for 6–10 hours.
  • Positive attitude with can-do motivation to finish tasks.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow instructions.
  • Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks or similar equipment.
  • Basic problem-solving and good communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work while remaining flexible and adaptable.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Box making, labeling, cold environment processing, picking, packing, carrier sorting, pallet stacking, wrapping and clean up.
  • Break down packages and inspect products for defects.
  • Palletize, wrap and strap pallets as necessary.
  • Sort and separate freight as needed.
  • Meet daily shipping objectives.

Job description

The Material Handler's main role will be supporting the distribution in all material handling functions. These functions will include and not limited to:

  • Verifying materials that are picked and staged for shipping.
  • Box making, labelling, cold environment processing, picking (walking), packing (standing), carrier package sorting, stacking pallets, wrapping and strapping and clean up.
  • Break down packages and inspect products for defects.
  • Palletize, wrap and strap pallets as necessary.
  • Sort and separate freight as needed.
  • Meeting daily shipping objectives.

What You Bring:
  • Education: HS diploma or equivalent.
  • Work Experience: 0 to 2 years warehouse related experience.
  • Basic warehouse experience andunderstanding of warehouse layout and functions of distribution.
  • Basic computer skills with theuse of any warehouse management system including use of RF scanning device.
  • Ability to work in a paced environment while moving upright for 6 to 10 hours.

Location:

This position must be based in Richmond, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation:

The estimated hourly range for this position is $17.79 to $24.52 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
