Job summary

Universal Screens is seeking a Material Handler to efficiently move, store, and manage materials in a non-climate controlled facility in Richardson, TX. The role supports production and warehouse operations by handling raw materials, components, and finished goods safely and accurately.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, inspecting incoming materials, maintaining inventory records, and delivering materials to production areas.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math for inventory counts.

Position Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently and safely moving, storing, and managing materials within the facility. This role ensures that raw materials, components, and finished products are handled safely and accurately to support production and warehouse operations.

What you’ll do
  • Load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse or production area using manual labor, pallet jacks, forklifts, or other equipment as required.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials for accuracy, quality, and quantity.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records by tracking materials using barcode scanners, inventory software, or manual logs.
  • Ensure materials are stored properly to prevent damage, contamination, or loss.
  • Deliver materials to designated areas on the production floor in a timely manner to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Assist with cycle counts and periodic physical inventory audits.
  • Follow company safety protocols and participate in regular safety training.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse and production area.
  • Identify and report damaged, defective, or unsafe materials to supervisors immediately.
  • Operate equipment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth material flow.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Who you are
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).
  • Prior experience in warehouse, logistics, or material handling (preferred).
  • Able to work in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.
  • Forklift certification or willing to obtain certification.
  • Can read, interpret, and follow instructions and safety guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and can perform basic math calculations.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and record-keeping.
