Job description

Position Title: Material Handler

Wage: $21.00 per hour

Shift: 1st

Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm

QPS Employment Group has a great Material Handler position available at a company in Racine, WI. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Ensuring orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished products for final distribution.
2. Contributing to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage areas.
3. Maintaining inventory by identifying and reporting shortages.
4. Locating materials and supplies by pulling and verifying them against production orders.
5. Maintaining in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
6. Locating and packing materials for shipping.
7. Documenting materials and recording units delivered and their locations.
8. Receiving credit-return materials and supplies from production by verifying codes, lot numbers, and quantities.
9. Preparing finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing products.
10. Documenting product shipments by recording units shipped.
11. Maintaining material-handling equipment through pre-use inspections and operator repairs.
12. Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items, or signaling machine operators to move materials onto and off trucks and loading docks.
13. Keeping the inventory, loading area, and machinery clean.
14. Opening containers, sorting, and cataloging materials.
15. Learning and adhering to workplace safety regulations.

Material Handler Requirements:

1. Strong organizational skills.
2. Adept at handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
3. Proficiency in prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines.
4. Excellent time management skills.
5. Process improvement mindset.
6. Knowledge of inventory control.
7. Proficiency with basic email software and tablet usage.
8. Basic mathematical, reading, writing, and comprehension skills in English.
9. Ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, and bend for a 10-hour shift.
10. Previous stock inventory experience is a plus.
11. Previous experience operating a forklift or pallet jack.
12. Forklift certification is a plus.
