Job summary

SURESTAFF is seeking a Material Handler in Plano, TX to move, store, and distribute materials for a large client. You will ensure inventory accuracy and support production schedules, using forklifts and ERP tools as needed. Responsibilities include receiving, labeling, staging, transporting, and preparing outbound shipments, plus cycle counts and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials, verify contents and inspect for damage.
• Label, tag, and store materials in designated locations.
• Pick and stage raw materials for production orders.
• Transport materials using forklifts, pallet jacks or similar gear.
• Maintain inventory records via barcode scanning or ERP.
• Prepare outbound shipments with packing and documents.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with physical inventory.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Keep work areas clean and hazard-free.
• Assist with loading/unloading and shipment verification.

Job description

SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Material Handler for a large, well-known client in Plano, TX. The Materials Handler is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate movement, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and products within a warehouse, manufacturing facility, or distribution center. This role ensures inventory is properly received, stored, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner, supporting production schedules and customer orders. SURESTAFF is invested in their team members! All temp-to-hire employees are offered competitive compensation $19 as well as a benefits package including health insurance (medical, dental, and vision). Generous referral bonuses are available upon hire. Available shifts include Monday-Friday 7am-4:30pm

Clerk Duties and Responsibilities

• Receive incoming materials, verify contents, and inspect for damage or discrepancies.
• Accurately, label, tag, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick and stage raw materials or components for production orders.
• Transport materials to and from storage, production areas, or shipping docks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through barcode scanning or ERP systems.
• Prepare outbound shipments including packing, labeling, and documentation.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with periodic physical inventory.
• Follow proper safety procedures and comply with OSHA and company policies.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
• Assist with loading/unloading trucks and verifying shipment accuracy.

Clerk Requirements and Qualifications

• Basic math and reading skills
• Familiarity with inventory systems, barcoding, or ERP software is a plus
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
