Job summary

Walpole Outdoors LLC is seeking a Material Handler to move, store, and organize materials across the facility and yard, coordinating needs with multiple departments while maintaining safety and inventory flow.

Work includes forklift operation, daily safety checks, and supporting shipping, receiving, and stock movement in a fast-paced environment; candidates should be reliable, safety-focused and able to work as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Certified forklift operator with certification for each type of forklift to be operated.
• Minimum of 3 years of material handling experience or experience in a related field.
• Ability to work with a team and be adaptable to a changing environment.
• Strong attention to safety, detail, and organization.
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
• Applicants with warehousing, material organization, or logistics experience will be given preference.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to load and unload trailers and trucks, dispose of debris, and organize the facility and yard.
• Perform daily equipment safety checks and complete weekly safety inspections; promptly report any discrepancies.
• Assist in coordinating the movement of stock, including branch loads.
• Maintain strong product knowledge, including familiarity with the location of all in-stock catalog merchandise and the ability to move materials as needed.
• Support order picking, packaging, shipping, and receiving activities.
• Accurately complete all required paperwork related to shipping, receiving, inventory movements, and material receipt transactions.
• Serve as a back-up driver for the shuttle truck to ensure operational continuity when needed.
• Consistently follow all company safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.

About the Role

Physical & Work Environment

• Work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. and push/pull up to 75 lbs
• Ability to operate a forklift and wear required PPE, including safety footwear and gloves
• Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a moderate noise level
