Job summary

Graphic Packaging International in Perry, Georgia, is seeking a Palletizer Assistant/Packer. You will inspect, pack, and assemble corrugated products while following strict quality guidelines and labels. You will operate a pallet jack, restock materials, and help maintain a clean, efficient work area.

Forklift certification is required for employment, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality. You will join a team that values reliability, attention to detail, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills are required.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and pack cartons neatly; ensure only quality products are packed.
• Assemble corrugated according to customer specifications.
• Review and confirm pallet tags, pallet log, and work instructions agree.
• Confirm labels are secure and facing out on pallets.
• Initial tags and verify cases to prevent mix-ups and quality issues.
• Operate pallet jack to move pallets to stretch wrap station.
• Restock materials for the next shift and keep work areas stocked.
• Maintain area cleanliness during make-ready and assist with troubleshooting.
• Support Lean initiatives (5S, TPM, Daily Management).

Job Description

Job functions include but are not limited to the following.

• Palletizer Assistant/Packer has responsibility to inspect and pack cartons neatly. ONLY Quality Products are to be packed!
• Assemble corrugated according to customer specifications.
• Responsible to review and confirm Pallet tags, Pallet log and Work instructions all agree.
• Confirm labels are secure and facing out, as applicable, when preparing pallets. Also, make sure corrugated is all lined up and matches in appearance.
• Responsible to initial tags and confirm that they checked each case to prevent mixing, quality check.
• Responsible for operating Pallet Jack to move completed pallet over to stretch wrap machine and wrap pallet.
• Responsible to Re-stock enough material for next crew member coming behind, which includes cases stocked and also keeping the tables stocked up with cases. In addition, must keep up speed to not back up the table.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the area (remove stray cartons, sweep up, etc.) performed during make ready.
• The Palletizer Assistant/Packer will help with troubleshooting when issues arise.
• Support and Develop (Lean) initiatives (5s, TPM, Daily Management).

Requirement

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of GPI Forklift Certification.

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities

• Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
• Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
• Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
• Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
• Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.

Candidates must be proficient in English, with the ability to communicate, read, and understand work-related instructions and safety procedures and requirements.
