Staffmark Group is hiring a Material Handler in Newark, DE. The role focuses on safely moving materials, supporting warehouse operations, and ensuring inventory is correctly routed. The position offers 1st or 2nd shift with hourly pay ranging from $15.80 to $16.80.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading, labeling, and ensuring products reach the correct destinations. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with prior warehouse experience and PPE knowledge.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience moving, organizing, loading, or unloading materials in warehouse/manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of safe material handling practices and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as required.

Responsabilités

• Feed, remove, and move printed sheets, signatures, labels or other in-process product to and from equipment.
• Load and unload materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
• Load materials into trucks and secure with straps, bracing, or padding.
• Move materials from storage or work sites to designated areas using hand trucks or electric dollies.
• Count, weigh, and record units moved on daily production sheets.
• Attach tags or labels and record information on containers.

Location: Newark, DE

Pay Rate: $15.80 - $16.80 per hour

Schedule: 1st shift is Monday-Thursday from 6 AM-4:30 PM and 2nd shift is Sunday-Wednesday from 7:30 PM-6 AM

Job Duties

• May feed, remove, flex, jog, and stack printed sheets, folded signatures, labels or other in-process product to and from the equipment in the area assigned


• Load and unloads materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand


• May load materials into trucks and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools


• Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device


• Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet


• Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers


• Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher May occasionally use automated equipment and/or operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.


• Previous warehouse or material handling training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Experience moving, organizing, loading, or unloading materials in warehouse or manufacturing environments.


• Ability to accurately identify products, labels, inventory locations, and shipping documentation.


• Knowledge of safe material handling practices and workplace safety procedures.


• Ability to operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as required.


• Strong attention to detail, organization, and dependable work habits.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience is preferred.


• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems is beneficial.


• Knowledge of inventory control procedures, warehouse documentation, or Lean warehouse practices is considered an asset.


• Individuals who demonstrate reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, and safe work habits are well positioned for success as a Material Handler.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive material handling tasks throughout the shift.


• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.


• Ability to safely move products using manual or powered material handling equipment.


• Ability to work efficiently in warehouse or manufacturing environments while following established safety procedures.
