Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Material Handler in New Glarus, Wisconsin. The 1st shift runs 7:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Thurs with some Fri) and offers the possibility of hire based on performance and business needs.

The role involves moving products on and off production lines, maintaining records, and adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices. A high school diploma is preferred, with assembly/manufacturing experience beneficial. Safety and teamwork are emphasized.

Job description

Position Title: Material Handler Wage: $20.00 per hour Shift: 1st Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm (Mon-Thurs with some Fri) QPS Employment Group has a great Material Handler position available at a company in New Glarus, WI. This is a 1st shift position with the opportunity for hire.

Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for moving product to and from the production lines in order to keep the machines running.
• Responsible for processing within product specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of product.
• Responsible for all job rotation tasks such as placing empty containers on line, observing filling process, repackaging boxes, stacking product on pallets, etc. in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintains a safe and clean work area.
• Readily accepts, and adapts quickly, to any task/production line reassignment and works closely and cooperates with any reassigned team leader and team members to accomplish production requirements.
• Reports to work on time every day & is prompt in returning to work from daily breaks.
• Cooperates and communicates well with co-workers and strives at all times to promote teamwork, build team spirit and heighten morale.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude and consideration towards fellow employees.
• Participates actively in any training program that is made available by the company.
• Recognizes and performs duties which need to be performed although not directly assigned.
• Always provides proper notification and advance notice of absences.
• Performs work duties and responsibilities in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Completes paperwork and documentation in an accurate, neat and timely manner. (ie: production tickets, downtime reports, etc.)
• Evaluates situations and makes sound judgments.
• Accepts responsibility for outcome of tasks that are delegated.
• Follows all departmental Standard Operating Procedures and reviews them regularly.
• Is flexible to work hours beyond and/or outside regular schedule to ensure proper coverage for the position when needed.
• Performs other duties and assumes additional responsibilities as necessary.

Material Handler Requirements:

• Required: High School Diploma preferred.
• Preferred: Assembly line or manufacturing experience beneficial.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to carry out routine and repetitive tasks.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
• Ability to distinguish colors.
• Ability to perform physical work, exercising up to 50 lbs. of strength (Varies depending on the individual job) frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Work involves stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, climbing, and grasping.
• Ability to substantially move wrist, hands, and/or fingers for purpose of packaging product.
