Job summary

Altec, Inc. is seeking a warehouse associate in Mount Airy, NC. The role will receive and deliver parts, pick/pack/ship to departments and customers, and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Starting pay is $21.53 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and equal opportunity employment. High school diploma or GED required, forklift/picker and barcoding skills are a plus. Qualifications

• Material handling and warehouse experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and deliver parts and materials to stocking areas.
• Pick, pack, and ship product to other departments, divisions, and customers.
• Follow safety and quality policies and work instructions.
• Learn and operate equipment in the department.
• Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and rotate responsibilities as needed.
• Use Oracle database / Altec Navigator as required.

Starting Pay $21.53/hr

Basic Qualifications

Should the selected candidate meet the qualifications of a more experienced level in the career path, the job level may be adjusted.

High School or GED is required

Preferred (please make sure related experience is on the resume or application)

• Material Handling experience
• Forklift / Picker experience
• Warehouse experience
• Computer skills, with bar-coding a plus
• Ability to read and understand technical documents - i.e. engineering drawings

Responsibilities

• To provide quality and timely work on each job performed
• Follow all established safety & quality policies and practices
• Learn and follow all work instructions
• Learn and operate all equipment within the department
• Support APS initiatives - Lean Manufacturing
• Rotate responsibilities as needed.
