Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Material Handler to support coil packaging, movement, and inspection in our Louisville area facility. You will follow safety procedures, read work orders, and handle coils and crates as directed by the shift supervisor.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are essential. Position is full-time and on-site with opportunities to contribute to a safer, more efficient operation.

Competenze

• High School diploma or GED; entry level, 3–9 months experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand safety instructions, work instructions and policies.
• Regularly stand, walk, talk or hear; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

Mansioni

• Open/close crates or containers containing coils or other products.
• Inspect coils for damage or QA/QC issues.
• Attach tags or labels to coils and mark information on crates/pallets.
• Read work orders or follow instructions from lead to move, hang or crate items.
• Secure or remove lifting attachments and assist with lifting coils by hand as needed.
• Maintain clean work area and equipment; perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Qualifications

The Material Handler reports directly to the shift supervisor and is responsible for the following activities:

• Follows published work instructions, quality procedures, and safety protocols
• Opens/Closes crates or containers containing coils or other customer products
• Inspects coils for any signs of damage or conditions related to quality assurance/quality control
• Attaches identifying tags or labels to coils or marks information on crates, pallets, or other containers
• Reads work order or follows oral instructions of lead person to ascertain coils or containers to be moved, hung or crated in the work area
• Secures or removes lifting attachments
• Lifts coils, by hand, as necessary to load or unload load/basket bars or monorail hang points
• Cleans work area and equipment as instructed
• Other duties may be assigned

Qualifications/Education/Experience: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High School diploma or general education degree (GED); entry level, prefer three to nine months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The individual must have the ability to read and understand safety instructions, work instructions, and company policies and procedures; to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions; and to add, subtract, multiply and divide. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
