Summary

Dakota Bodies is looking for a Material Handler. The primary role for the Material Handler is moving material around the plant or work site with a forklift. In addition, this role may package, weigh, and load/unload material from machines and stage material in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to perform the duties to the highest standard.

Please note that the Material Handler will be using a forklift for approximately 25%-30% of their day. The remaining portions of their day may consist of the following:

Responsibilities

• Move material around the plant using a forklift.
• Ensure areas are supplied with parts.
• Move and stage material as scheduled for optimum machine efficiency.
• Support machines by emptying scrap and ensuring lines are cleared of finished product.
• Locate material into finished goods as needed.
• Track orders and tags.
• Follow bill of material to match product with proper packaging and skidding.
• Perform finishing duties.
• Set up valves and perform burn-off operations.
• Perform multiple tasks to ensure ongoing machine operation.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks throughout the plant to ensure safe, efficient, and quality production of materials.
• Perform housekeeping duties within the plant when necessary.
• Be responsible for delivery of goods.
• Maintain and operate company vehicle.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

• Handle physical, repetitive work and stand for 10 hours a day.
• Have good hand-eye coordination.
• Mechanical aptitude is a plus but not required.
• Be competent in basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Handle small parts.
• Understand and follow quality policies and procedures.
• Recognize quality issues and problems.
