Overview

The Material Handler is responsible for manually or using equipment like hand trucks to move materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated areas within the facility or onto trucks. The position typically reports to the Warehouse Supervisor or Lead.

Responsibilities

• Perform material handling duties manually or with hand trucks in the facility.
• Load finished products onto pallets or hand trucks manually.
• Stack skids or pallets in designated areas.
• Provide cleaning services, including sweeping floors, cleaning offices, and removing trash in proper containers or designated areas.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by performing related tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to stand/walk for 10-12 hours.
• Ability to lift and/or pull 50 lbs without restriction.
• Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
• Frequent walking in the distribution center and surrounding areas, which can be over a quarter mile in length.
• Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, lighting, and temperature, with access to all areas of the building.
• Availability to work irregular or extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
• Attention to detail.
