Job summary

White Cap in California is seeking a motivated forklift operator to safely move finished and unfinished materials through production. You will load, unload, and stage pallets, ensuring operators have raw materials to run equipment.

Under supervision, you will follow established procedures, participate in shipping/receiving duties, and help maintain a clean, safe work area in a noisy manufacturing setting. Prior forklift certification preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in the area of responsibility.
  • Must be a trained and qualified Forklift Operator.
  • Experience moving pallets and loading materials.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas to ensure operators have raw materials.
  • Stacks and assembles materials into bundles.
  • Removes empty pallets from equipment.
  • Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible for safely facilitating the movement of finished and unfinished material through the manufacturing and production process.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Reviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Ensures that operators have all the raw materials to operate their equipment.
  • Stacks and assembles materials into bundles. Bands bundles.
  • Removes empty pallets from equipment.
  • Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope
  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.

  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well‑defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.

  • None.

Work Environment
  • Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.

  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.

Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be a trained and qualified Forklift Operator.
