Job summary

White Cap seeks a skilled Forklift Operator/Material Handler to safely move finished and unfinished materials through the production process. You will load, unload, and stage pallets, ensuring materials reach operators and production lines on time.

The role requires 2–5 years of experience, a HS diploma or GED, and forklift operator training. This is an on-site position with a safety-minded approach in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move pallets and containers from machines following work orders or verbal instructions.
  • Load and unload materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Move material from storage or work sites to designated areas to ensure operators have raw materials.
  • Stack and assemble materials into bundles. Bands bundles.
  • Remove empty pallets from equipment.
  • Perform duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsible for safely facilitating the movement of finished and unfinished material through the manufacturing and production process.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Reviews work orders or follows verbal instructions to move pallets and containers from machines.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Moves material from storage or work sites to designated areas. Ensures that operators have all the raw materials to operate their equipment.
  • Stacks and assembles materials into bundles. Bands bundles.
  • Removes empty pallets from equipment.
  • Performs duties of Shipper/Receiver as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Nature and Scope
  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
  • None.
Work Environment
  • Typically located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally, 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be a trained and qualified Forklift Operator.
