Job summary

Ingersoll Rand is seeking a dependable Material Handler for our Junction City, Oregon facility. You will receive, store, label, kit, stage, and deliver parts and equipment to production while keeping accurate inventory records.

The role requires forklift operation, experience with ERP or warehouse management systems, and the ability to read BOMs and work orders. Day shift, onsite, with strong safety expectations and teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in manufacturing, warehousing, or material handling.
• 1 year with ERP/warehouse management or similar system.
• Experience reading work orders, BOMs, labels, packing slips.
• Ability to stand/walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and use material-handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect, verify, and organize incoming materials; report discrepancies.
• Label, store, protect, and identify materials across warehouse and production areas.
• Pick, kit, stage, and deliver materials according to BOMs and work orders.
• Replenish inventory and maintain reliable flow to production; communicate shortages.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, hoists and other equipment.
• Complete ERP transactions and maintain accurate locations and lot/serial data.
• Support cycle counts, inventories, and 5S/continuous-improvement activities.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Shipping, Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve issues.

Job Overview

We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused Material Handler to keep materials organized, accurate, and available throughout our manufacturing facility. This role receives, stores, stages, kits, and delivers parts and equipment to production while maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate enjoys organizing and labeling inventory, is comfortable using material-handling equipment and computer systems, and keeps production supplied without compromising safety or accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, inspect, verify, and organize incoming materials, components, and equipment; report shortages, overages, damage, incorrect parts, and other discrepancies.
• Label, store, protect, and accurately identify materials in warehouse, stockroom, and production areas, including proper segregation of accepted, damaged, nonconforming, and returned inventory.
• Pick, kit, stage, verify, and deliver materials according to bills of material, work orders, production schedules, and priorities, confirming part numbers, revisions, quantities, and condition.
• Replenish point-of-use inventory and maintain reliable material flow to production while promptly communicating shortages, discrepancies, and potential production risks.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, hoists, and other approved material-handling equipment using proper lifting, handling, and storage practices.
• Complete receipts, issues, transfers, returns, location changes, and related transactions in the ERP system while maintaining accurate locations, lot or serial information, and material status.
• Support cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory investigations, corrective actions, 5S, waste reduction, and other continuous-improvement activities.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving, Production, Engineering, and Quality to resolve material issues, support packaging and shipping, and maintain clean, organized work areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in manufacturing, distribution, production, warehousing, or material handling.
• At least one year of experience using a computer-based ERP, warehouse management, inventory management, shipping, or receiving system.
• At least six months of experience reading and interpreting work orders, bills of material, inventory labels, packing slips, and related documentation.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly bend, stoop, kneel, climb, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive material-handling tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation and safely move heavier materials using approved equipment or team-lifting techniques.

Preferences

• Forklift experience and the ability to obtain company-required material-handling equipment certifications.
• Experience operating hoists, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, or similar material-handling equipment.
• Experience using ERP or warehouse management systems, barcode scanners, and electronic inventory transactions.
• Experience building or auditing production kits using bills of material.
• Knowledge of cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, FIFO practices, and warehouse location control.
• Experience handling large, heavy, oversized, or high-value industrial components in a custom, high-mix, or engineer-to-order manufacturing environment.
• Current OSHA, forklift, rigging, crane, or other relevant industrial safety certification.

Travel and Work Arrangements

• Fully onsite at the Junction City, Oregon facility; this is a non-union position.
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., totaling 40 hours per week.
• Overtime may be available during the week or on weekends based on business needs; schedule flexibility is required when overtime is accepted.
• No regular travel is anticipated.

Work Environment and Safety

This position works in a manufacturing and warehouse environment around moving equipment and active production areas. Employees must follow all company safety policies, PPE requirements, equipment inspection procedures, safe-lifting practices, load limits, and traffic-control guidelines. The Material Handler is expected to maintain a clean, organized, hazard-free work area and promptly report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, spills, near misses, and other safety concerns.
