Job summary

New Flyer is seeking a warehouse associate to maintain accurate inventory at designated locations and move inventory to and from receiving docks, expediting as needed. The role involves operating forklifts and other equipment to move parts to the production floor and supporting assembly technicians.

Hourly pay rate will be $21.27. Candidates should have forklift experience and a background in warehouse, shipping and receiving responsibilities, with strong written communication skills and an eye

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures.
• Operate forklift, walkie rider and other material handling equipment to move parts to the production floor.
• Set up storage racks, bins and carts for proper storage and to prevent damage or loss.
• Create and maintain bins and drop areas for deliveries and removal of parts.
• Assist assembly technicians by lifting and moving materials on the production floor.
• Count parts accurately and cycle count parts as directed; file rejected parts daily.
• Move and empty trash containers into appropriate hoppers.
• Record part shortage information and communicate with leadership.
• Receive work direction from the department leader.

Position Summary

This position will maintain an accurate inventory of parts at the designated locations and will be responsible for moving inventory to and from the receiving docks, expediting when appropriate.

What You Will Do

• Maintain a safe work environment; adhere to safety policies, procedures and processes.
• Operates forklift, walkie rider, and other material handling equipment to move parts to point of use on production floor. Expedite parts when needed.
• Set up material storage racks, bins, carts, etc. for proper storage online to prevent damage or loss.
• Create and maintain bins and drop areas for part deliveries and removal.
• Support assembly technicians in lifting and moving of materials on production floor.
• Accurately count parts and cycle count parts when directed. File rejected parts on a daily basis.
• Move and empty trash containers into appropriate hoppers.
• Recording part shortage information in appropriate areas and leadership.
• Receives work direction from department leader.

What you need to be successful

• Previous forklift operating experience
• Previous employment with warehouse, shipping and receiving responsibilities and experience
• Must possess good written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and follow verbal and written directions
• Ability to thrive in busy, fast-paced production environment
• Ability to listen and be aware of shipping/receiving/production floor activity to support a safe and hazard free working environment
• Strong attention to detail
