Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a Material Handler to support daily warehouse and production operations at our Houston facility. You will receive, stock, organize, and move raw materials and finished goods, ensuring accurate inventory and clean, safe work areas.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, move, and organize materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting.

Responsibilities

  • Use pallet jacks to safely load and unload materials from trucks.
  • Receive, stock, and organize incoming materials daily.
  • Pull materials and work orders as required to support production operations.
  • Restock excess materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Create inventory tags for raw materials and ensure tags are properly attached.
  • Pull and stage finished goods for shipping as required.
  • Maintain organized shelves, pallet areas, and warehouse storage locations.
  • Remove empty pallets from shelves and sort and stack them neatly in designated areas.
  • Empty and clean waste receptacles throughout the warehouse.
  • Sweep and clean warehouse floors and work areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness around dumpsters and compactors.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure designated facility doors are secured and locked nightly.
  • Work closely with production, warehouse, and shipping team members to support daily operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

As a Material Handler, you will play a key role in supporting daily warehouse and production operations by receiving, stocking, organizing, and moving raw materials and finished goods throughout the facility. You will help maintain accurate inventory, pull materials for production and shipping, and ensure the warehouse remains clean, safe, and organized. Requirements
  • 0–2 years of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, inventory, or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience using a pallet jack preferred.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, move, and organize materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow inventory procedures and accurately identify materials.
  • Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform physical duties including standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work overtime or weekends as business needs require.
  • Must pass a background check, drug screening, and any required healthcare screenings.
