Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking a Material Handler to move and process waste at our Atlanta facility. You will operate carts, manage unloading, and help maintain a clean, safe workspace while following established procedures.

The role offers paid training, uniforms, comprehensive health benefits, tuition reimbursement, vacation after 90 days, and a Stay-On style incentive. Evening shift is 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm with overtime potential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Flexibility to work days, nights, overtime and weekends.
• Ability to work quickly, safely and responsibly as part of a team.
• Ability to lift 50-75 pounds and push/pull loads up to 200 pounds.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate loading and unloading of carts and box waste from trailers.
• Cycle carts through tippers and cart washers and perform QC checks for damage and cleanliness.
• Operate box waste scale station and record weights for billing purposes.
• Maintain unloading and work areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Perform general plant cleanup duties, including spilled waste or materials.
• Follow established safety procedures at all times.
• Monitor and document the number of boxes processed daily.
• Work efficiently as part of a team to ensure timely waste handling.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflow, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Assist with cross-functional initiatives and special projects as needed.
