Job summary

Staffmark in Hillsboro, OR is hiring a Material Handler to receive, move, stage, load, and unload materials across our warehouse operations. You will verify inventory, create locations in ERP, and assist with shipping documentation.

The role requires 2+ years in warehousing or material handling, forklift certification or ability to obtain, and basic computer skills (Excel). Schedule is Mon-Fri, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM with competitive pay.

Location: Hillsboro, OR
Pay Rate: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Education Requirements

Experience Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, inventory control, shipping, receiving, or material handling
• Experience using ERP systems, barcode scanning systems, or inventory management software preferred
• Experience maintaining inventory records and processing warehouse transactions
• Previous experience operating material handling equipment is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to analyze inventory discrepancies and resolve stock issues
• Experience creating and maintaining inventory locations within ERP systems
• Familiarity with shipping documentation, Bills of Lading (BOL), and carrier software

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance
• Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and walking
• Ability to push, pull, grasp, and handle materials throughout the shift
• Ability to sit, stand, and perform repetitive motions as required
• Ability to work safely around warehouse equipment and mechanical hazards
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)

Job Duties

• Maintain inventory accuracy through ERP transactions, barcode systems, and cycle count activities
• Create inventory locations and process barcode labels
• Research and resolve inventory discrepancies using warehouse systems and reporting tools
• Prepare shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL)
• Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, scales, and other warehouse equipment
• Reorganize inventory storage to maximize space utilization and efficiency
• Support shipping, receiving, warehouse, and distribution operations
• Assist with KPI tracking, reporting, recordkeeping, and continuous improvement efforts

What You Will Do

As a Material Handler you will receive, move, stage, load, unload, organize, and transport materials throughout warehouse or manufacturing operations. You will verify inventory, maintain accurate product locations, prepare materials for production or shipment, assist with inventory control, and help ensure safe, efficient movement of products while following established workplace procedures.

• Maintain and store files effectively.
• Create new locations in the ERP system.
• Process and print barcode labels.
• Maintain Data in KPI.
• Fill out complex forms in ERP systems such as NCM.
• Use various tools to research inventory discrepancies.
• Use critical thinking skills to find lost inventory.
• Reorganize inventory storage for maximum fit and distribution.
• Use Carrier related software and prepare BOL.
• Use Hand Trucks, Pallet jackets, and Scales safely and effectively.
• Repetitive motion of twisting and bending.
