Job summary

Atterro is seeking a Material Handler in Tallapoosa, GA. The role involves moving materials, receiving and staging items, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure timely delivery of products.

You will work 4:30 PM - 2 AM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays, and earn $17.26 per hour. This position emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Now hiring for a Material Handler
Location: Tallapoosa, GA
Pay Rate: $17.26 per hour
Schedule: 4:30 PM - 2 AM | Monday - Friday (occasional Saturdays)

Job Duties

• Moves materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within assigned area.
• May be trained in the use of heavy equipment such as forklift in preparation for certification as required to move to a Freight Handler job.
• May sweep floors, clean dock area, general good hygiene of entire work area.
• Assist in receiving cargo by removing from truck by hand, or using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack or similar manual hand tools.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or moves orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Opens bales, crates, and other containers.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous warehouse or material handling training is beneficial.

Experience Requirements

• Experience moving, organizing, loading, or unloading materials in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to accurately identify products, labels, inventory locations, and shipping documentation.
• Knowledge of safe material handling practices and workplace safety procedures.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks or other material handling equipment as required.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and dependable work habits.
• Stable work history.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, shipping, receiving, logistics, manufacturing, or distribution experience is preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, or warehouse management systems is beneficial.
• Knowledge of inventory control procedures, warehouse documentation, or Lean warehouse practices is considered an asset.
• Individuals who demonstrate reliability, teamwork, attention to detail, and safe work habits are well positioned for success as a Material Handler.

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive material handling tasks throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to safely move products using manual or powered material handling equipment.
• Ability to work efficiently in warehouse or manufacturing environments while following established safety procedures.
