Job summary

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Material Handler for a Long Beach, MS lumber yard. You will load, unload, stack, and move materials, maintain inventory, and prepare orders for customers in a production environment.

Expect outdoor work, exposure to temperature changes, dust, noise, and mechanical parts. Forklift operation is a plus. This is a full-time, temporary-to-hire role with weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Must pass background check and drug screen.
• Able to lift 50 pounds frequently and up to 75 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods.
• Work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide general labor in the lumber yard, including lifting, stacking, and moving materials.
• Load and unload materials and pull orders for customers.
• Maintain safe housekeeping for efficient operations.
• Operate or assist with material handling equipment as needed.
• Follow foreman or senior handlers' training to improve knowledge of processes.

MATERIAL HANDLER

Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hardworking, reliable Material Handler for a well-established building supply and lumber yard based in Long Beach, MS.

On this team you will handle and maintain the flow of materials and products on the premises.

Loading, unloading, stacking, maintaining inventory and pulling orders for customers.

You will be in a production environment, subject to temperature variations, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust. We are known as being a great place to work and would love to have you on the team!

Pay Rate

$15.00 per hour

Schedule and Hours

Monday through Friday

6AM -- 4:00PM

Material Handler Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide general labor services as needed in the lumber yard including climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling
• Ability to carry, stack, and lift pieces of lumber and materials
• Perform necessary tasks to ensure good housekeeping for a safe and efficient operation
• Operate motorized and non-motorized material handling equipment, some of which may require specialized training
• Respond attentively to training from foreman or senior handlers to increase knowledge of work processes, be a team player
• Attend periodic safety meetings as required

Material Handler Qualifications And Requirements

• Background Check and Drug Screen
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 75lbs (assessment performed)
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to withstand extreme temperatures, as you will be working outdoors
• Forklift operation a plus
