Ball Corporation is seeking a Material Handler at the Fairfield, CA facility to support a 24/7 manufacturing environment. The role involves operating forklifts, coordinating materials, and ensuring quality and safety in daily operations.

You will work on a 4 on 4 off rotating schedule (days and nights) and report to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor. Prior forklift experience and safety compliance are preferred.

Position Overview

As a Material Handler, you're a member of an assigned production crew, reporting to the Plant Warehouse Supervisor. You will contribute to the success of Ball by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for your area of responsibility. The Fairfield plant is high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Our crews work 4 on 4 off rotating from days to nights every 7 weeks (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am).

Your Key Responsibilities Include

• Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies including but not limited to food safety; personal protective equipment; emergency procedures, etc.
• Operate forklift and coordinate products including raw materials, scrap, finished goods, packaging materials, chemicals, and other supplies.
• Effectively communicate with vendors, delivery drivers, and customers.

Required Experience & Skills

• High School Diploma or education equivalent.
• 1 year of work experience in an industrial environment.

Preferred Experience & Skills

• 3 or more years of operation and maintenance of forklift.
• Working knowledge of proper hazardous waste management.
• Experience using JD Edwards, AS900, or similar warehouse or ERP system.

Physical Environment & Working Conditions

• May be subject to all of the following, but not limited to:
  • Hot/Cold working conditions.
  • Loud /Noisy environment.
  • Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Climbing (stairs, catwalks, and other equipment as necessary).

Compensation & Benefits

• Expected Hiring Salary Range:$27.37/hr
• This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

• Onsite Work Environment:This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site. Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
