Job Summary

The Material Handler is responsible for moving materials within the Belimo plant using forklifts, creating labels for receiving, removing waste cardboard, assembling and reassembling racks, taking inventory counts for the buyer or planner, and packing actuators as needed.

Reporting Structure

The Material Handler is part of the Warehouse/Logistics Team in Danbury, CT, reporting to the Warehouse/Shipping Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities

1. Move materials in and out of palette racks using forklifts.
2. Transport needed materials to assemblers on time using a forklift.
3. Create labels for sub-assembly parts using MS Word label program.
4. Dispose of waste cardboard and lumber in dumpsters.
5. Assemble and reassemble pallet racks and shelves as needed.
6. Perform special inventory counts for the buyer or planner.
7. Pack actuators as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of weighing scales and ability to perform weigh counts.
• Forklift certification required.
• Proficiency in reading and writing for label creation and reading.
• Strong organizational skills to ensure timely delivery of parts to assemblers.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Availability to work 2nd Shift.

The base pay for this position is $20.04 per hour.
