Job description

Heavy Equipment Material Handler– Responsible for the safe operation of our material handler- Link-Belt 160. The ideal candidates will have heavy equipment experience and a great safety record. Daily cleaning and equipment inspections are required. The candidate will work to determine and meet all customers’ needs, providing friendly & efficient service. This position is full time, working at least 32 hours a week during our hours of operation (Hours of Operation are Monday through Friday, 6 am to 5 pm, Saturday 8 am to 1 pm).

Primary Job Duties

• Operating heavy machinery- Experience with excavators, material handlers

• Loading and unloading vehicles

• Ability to take directions from management

• Adaptability to new environments

• Daily pre-trip inspection of equipment

• Properly sort and load scrap metal to specifications in a safe and productive manner

• Breaking down of certain materials for upgrades

• Other duties as required

. Work in the shop. Helping with unloading customers, sorting purchased scrap into containers.

. Operating our forklift to move containers and stage containers for shipping.

Physical Demands

• Responsibilities primarily performed by standing / walking 90% of the time

• Sitting is required for the remaining 10% of the time

• Normal range of vision, depth perception and hearing is needed

• Ability to bend, stoop and reach above the shoulders is required

• Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 pounds

• The ability to work in both extreme heat and cold weather conditions is required

PAY AND BENEFITS

  • Pay Rate is $18-$20/hr, depending on experience
