Job summary

Sonoco in Columbus, OH is seeking a Material Handler. The role offers a wage of $26.76 per hour with a 4 on 4 off shift schedule (6:45pm–7:00am).

You will count, weigh and verify items, inspect shipments, complete shipping paperwork and prepare materials for transport. You will operate forklifts or pallet jacks to move stock within a packaging-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Under direct supervision is required.
• Handle basic issues and refer complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Working knowledge of subject matter.

• Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify.
• Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.

• Prepares materials for shipping by weighing, packaging and stamping.
• Prepares necessary shipping forms such as bills of lading.
• Operates material handling equipment to move stock or reorganize storage.

What You’ll Be Doing:
