Material Handler - 1st Shift Columbia City, IN

Temp-to-Hire Starting Pay: $17-$19/hour | $19-$22/hour upon direct hire

Enjoy staying active and working around trucks and equipment? Pro Resources is hiring a Material Handler for a truck equipment company in Columbia City. This hands-on role keeps parts and materials moving so the shop team has what they need to get the job done. This position takes place in an automotive-style shop, rather than a traditional warehouse or factory. You’ll regularly move between indoor and outdoor areas, use a forklift, and lift and deliver heavy, awkwardly shaped items to service bays. Experience handling oversized or irregular loads is especially helpful.

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:00 PM

What You’ll Do

• Pick and deliver parts, materials, and equipment to shop bays.
• Safely move heavy and oddly shaped items using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and deliveries.
• Receive shipments and check items and quantities against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Prepare and package outgoing orders.
• Organize stock, record inventory transactions, and assist with inventory counts.
• Keep work areas clean and follow safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Forklift experience and current forklift certification.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle heavy, awkwardly shaped materials.
• Comfort working indoors and outdoors throughout the day.
• Ability to read pick tickets, purchase orders, and packing lists.
• Basic math skills, attention to detail, and dependable attendance.
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Steel-toe or composite-toe shoes/boots and safety glasses are required.
