Job summary

Mygrant Glass Company is seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our warehouse team. You will operate material handling equipment to select, stock, and organize products, ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment for our customers.

The role requires vigilance in safety, attention to inventory accuracy, and the ability to work with RFID/scan technology. A high school diploma and forklift certification are preferred, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Select incoming pick tickets using RFID/scanner to fulfill orders.
• Prepare, pack, scan, and stage products for transfer and customer pickup/delivery.
• Receive, process, and store incoming auto glass shipments.
• Inspect shipments for damages or shortages and document them.
• Verify vendor part numbers and stock numbers for incoming products.
• Prepare receiving reports and report discrepancies to supervisors.
• Store products in proper locations per bin number or sequence.
• Operate forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and order pickers safely.
• Maintain safety and quality standards and report maintenance needs.
• Assist in maintaining appearance of the branch and warehouse areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Material Handler

Reports to: Branch Manager

Essential Responsibilities

• Select incoming pick tickets according using RFID/ or scan gun technology to accurately fulfill customer orders.
• Prepares, packs, and scans (as appropriate), and stages products for transfer and customer pick-up and delivery in accordance with established standards.
• Quickly and accurately receive, process, and store incoming auto glass product shipments.
• Ensures shipments are inspected, and damages or shortages are documented and recorded. Initiates freight claim procedure when necessary.
• Checks incoming delivery contents against packing list to verify accurate and full delivery.
• Verifies vendor part number and MGC stock number for all incoming products.
• Prepares receiving reports and notes any shortages, damages or overages. Promptly reports any discrepancies to supervisors.
• Stores incoming products in proper location according to bin number or product sequence.
• Determines proper bin number and/or location of incoming products.
• Verifies actual counts of stock against current warehouse inventory management system (ie: CORE). Investigates and reports discrepancies.
• Operates hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, order pickers, and OR other equipment safely and in accordance with organizational procedures.
• Monitors equipment and promptly reports any safety or maintenance concerns to supervisors
• Maintains required hazardous materials, forklift, and other internal and external certifications
• Break down boxes, stock accessories and organize inventory as directed
• Adhere to health & safety policies and quality standards.
• Assist in maintaining appearance of branch as needed. Clean warehouse, counter area, etc.
• Other job duties as assigned.

Other Duties

• Aid in prepping, inspecting, labeling and loading safely to maintain KPI objectives and limit breakage.
• Loads delivery vehicles and assists customers with will call pickups.
• Drive company vehicles for customer deliveries, transfers or assigned maintenance
• Processes customer returns. Ensures returns are in sellable condition per company policy.
• Verifies that warranty paperwork has been properly and neatly filled out. Initiates warranty return process, and stages product in warranty area.
• Processes documentation necessary to ship transfers and customer orders, including bills of lading, packing lists, small parcel manifests, and other necessary documents.
• Performs cycle counting on assigned items to keep accurate inventory records.
• Perform other job tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education And Licensing Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license preferred
• CMV DOT Medical Card preferred
• Pass and maintain Forklift certification
• 2+ years warehouse or equivalent experience

Position Summary

The Material Handler is an essential job function to the success of Mygrant Glass. Material Handlers operate material handling equipment to select, stock, and organize products as well as hand-handle materials to stage at appropriate load sites. Physical Demands

This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: viewing a computer terminal/mobile device; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts; Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels, and making fine discriminations in sound; Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must have finger grip strength to properly handle glass. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or upright, for prolonged periods of time, traverse stairs, maneuver in tight spaces, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch occasionally during 8-10-hour work shift.
