Overview

The Global Filter Material Handler will be based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Material Handler will be responsible for the delivery and staging of raw materials on our various production lines. They play a pivotal role in Global Filter’s success by pulling & unloading products, maintaining inventory accuracy by monitoring and auditing the daily warehouse functions and cycle count activities. The Material Handler will have a strong understanding of the Global Filter product portfolio, warehousing processes & procedures, operating tools & equipment within the warehousing process, and our core culture.

Overview

The Global Filter Material Handler will be based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Material Handler will be responsible for the delivery and staging of raw materials on our various production lines. They play a pivotal role in Global Filter’s success by pulling & unloading products, maintaining inventory accuracy by monitoring and auditing the daily warehouse functions and cycle count activities. The Material Handler will have a strong understanding of the Global Filter product portfolio, warehousing processes & procedures, operating tools & equipment within the warehousing process, and our core culture.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated quick learner with a strong bias for action. The candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a team-player attitude. The person must be able to meet expectations consistently, predictably, and reliably with regards to attendance, quality of work, and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, to pull, stage, stock, load, and store product
  • Safely pick up and deliver supplies and materials to all production areas
  • Assist production team with all aspects of material and equipment movement
  • Pick, pack, and process sales orders for shipment in a timely manner
  • Utilize scanning equipment to pick orders for production or sales orders
  • Identify and verify the location of materials in warehouse to maintain accuracy with inventory processes and procedures
  • Assist inventory control with annual inventory and cycle count processes and procedures
  • Unload inbound raw materials and prepares for inspection
  • Pull, kit, and allocate parts in ERP system as necessary
  • Navigate ERP system for material allocations and inspections
  • Utilize various hand and power tools to box and package finished products
  • Perform accurate measurements and basic mathematics to inspect finish lengths and diameters
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Ability to safely and effectively operate various material handling equipment, including a forklift
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure
  • Must be able to perform basic math calculations
  • Must be able to work in a positive, dynamic work environment with an emphasis on teamwork and quality of work
  • Must practice excellent personal hygiene on a daily basis

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Must have good dexterity with hands
  • Perform repetitive work for long periods of time
