The role demands a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety, accuracy, and on-time material handling on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Basic math and measuring skills.
• Experience reading BOMs and blueprints.
• Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Ability to bend, lift, stand for 8–10 hours daily and lift up to 60 lbs.
• Follow standard work procedures and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Move material around plant using a forklift and/or overhead crane.
• Package, weigh, load, unload, stock, and stage material.
• Receive material and stock to proper locations.
• Pack prep material for shipment and load/unload trucks.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain safety standards.
• Support inventory and optimize material flow on the shop floor.

B-TEK Scales, LLC, is a manufacturer of high-capacity truck, rail, floor, and bench scales for weighing solutions in Canton, Ohio.

Job Summary

The primary role for the Material Handler is to move material around the plant with a forklift and/or crane to support the needs of the plant floor. In addition, this role may package, weigh, load, unload, stock, do inventory of, and stage material in a timely and accurate manner. This position requires a self-starter with a strong work ethic and a desire to perform the duties to the highest standard.

Job Requirements

• Identify and obtain pertinent information from shop order or bill of materials (BOM)
• Move material around plant using a forklift and/or overhead crane
• Ensure areas are supplied with parts and remove finished skids
• Move and stage material as scheduled for optimum efficiency
• Receive material and stock to the proper plant locations
• Pack prepping material for shipment
• Load and unload trucks as needed
• Perform housekeeping duties in the plant as required
• Follow standard work procedures
• Adhere to all safety standards

Minimum Requirements

• Highly organized
• Basic math and measuring skills
• Have an eye for detail and understanding of production floor flow
• Experience with reading BOMs and blueprints
• Experience with operating forklifts and overhead cranes
• Ability to bend, lift, sit, and stand for 8 to 10 hours per day
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
