Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is hiring for a material handler on First Shift to support a busy manufacturing facility. You will store and distribute materials using a range of handling equipment and must be forklift-certified for this location.

You will read schedules, move items, open containers, and prepare materials for production while maintaining 5S standards and clear communication with team members.

Qualifications

• Must have forklift certification for this work location.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic functions in Glovia.
• Ability to apply problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Read production schedules, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Move materials and items from receiving or production areas to designated areas throughout the facility.
• Open boxes, crates, and other containers; sort materials onto racks, shelves, or bins by part number, code, or size.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for material, tools, or stock items and distribute to production areas.
• Mark materials with identifying information.
• Weigh or count items to ensure conformance to standard work and policy.
• Drive forklift or other material handling vehicles as needed.
• Support 5S/workplace organization goals and suggest improvements.
