Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne seeks a Manager, Material Flow Engineering to own the design and execution of strategies ensuring seamless material availability from supplier to rocket, delivering industry-leading inventory performance and efficient lineside flows.

You will lead a multi-level team, partner with Build, Operations, Production and Supply Chain, develop layouts, improve processes, and apply AI tools and data analysis (Grok, Claude, Excel, PowerBI, SQL) to drive KPI improvements.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or Bachelor + 5+ years in related field.
• Experience leading manufacturing/industrial teams.
• Knowledge of MRP, WMS, MES and supply chain processes.
• CAD for layout planning and equipment design (SolidWorks/NX/AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with AI tools and data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-level team of engineers, supervisors, technicians and specialists.
• Collaborate with Build Engineering, Operations Engineering, Production and Supply Chain on key projects.
• Develop layouts for material flow and storage; optimize space and part density.
• Design and implement material flow strategies from receipt to lineside.
• Use value stream mapping and data tools to improve end-to-end processes.
• Manage inbound receipt, routing, and replenishment; maintain inventory accuracy.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure safety compliance per standards.
