Job summary

Belmark, Inc. seeks a Material Expeditor to manage the flow of materials through production to meet schedules in a fast-paced packaging environment. The role emphasizes safety, accurate stock levels, and timely delivery of items to presses.

Hours are 3:00 AM–3:00 PM on a 3-on/1-off, 3-on/7-off, 12-hour shift pattern with overtime after 36 hours; AM shift includes a $1 per hour differential. Belmark offers comprehensive family-friendly benefits and a site-based health clinic.

Qualifications

• Requires education equivalent to two years of high school.
• Knowledge of English and ability to write legibly.
• Ability to read, comprehend and follow simple written and oral instructions.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers and decimals.
• Ability to operate a computer with standard programs.
• Ability to stand/walk for most of the shift and lift up to 50–100 lb as needed.
• Ability to maintain concentration and attention to detail to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain Safe Quality Foods requirements.
• Ensure correct stock at presses according to schedule and press downtime.
• Return unused stock to warehouse and manage inventory entries.
• Deliver non-stock items to appropriate area and keep aisles clear.
• Coordinate with lead press operator to meet scheduling needs.
• Stock next shift presses per schedule to reduce downtime.
• Assist with physical inventory and safely operate material handling equipment.
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What will I do in this role

• Responsible to follow all safety procedures as required by the role and to nurture a food safety culture by adhering to all Safe Quality Foods requirements
• Ensure correct amount and type of stock are at pressures according to schedule Press downtime should never be caused by insufficient stock or the wrong type of stock at press
• Return unused stock to warehouse
• Responsible for accurate inventory management which includes computer entries and stock size changes
• Deliver all non stock items received to appropriate person or area
• Ensure aisles are not block and that the stock press has a neat appearance
• Ensure accurate stock use recording
• Must communicate with lead press operator to meet scheduling needs
• Ensure that the next shift presses are stocked according to the schedule to reduce the amount of downtime
• Assist during physical inventory
• Responsible for using all material transporting equipment in a safe manner
• Back up the material handler
• May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Properly dispose of waste ink spent solvents and other designed waste according to hazardous waste handling guidelines

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires education equivalent to two 2 years of high school
• Knowledge of the English language and the ability to write legibly

• Ability to meet deadlines May be required to work some overtime

• Ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less; see clearly at 20 feet or more; identify and distinguish colors; observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; judge distances and spatial relationships; and to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
• Ability to use hands for 100 of work time iestacking rolls utility knife etc; and reach above shoulder for 25 of work time
• Ability to lift 10 pounds or less 20 of work time; 25 pounds or less 20 of work time; 50 pounds or less 50 of work time and 100 pounds or less 10 of work time Example Stock on to and off of the power hand card to skid approximately 6 ft
