Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Materials Science Engineering or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong report compiling and writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Motivated self-starter and collaborative problem solve.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Project a plus.
• Familiarity with Musco solutions is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to overall solder reliability and experimental design concerning projects for LED fixtures and drivers.
• Investigate failed components, microstructures, and data using a scientific approach to improve product performance.
• Support effective root cause analyses and corrective action for materials issues.
• Gain practical experience generating reports and communicating with inter-disciplinary teams.
• Acquire experience in lab safety and procedures utilizing sample preparation techniques and equipment such as a cross sectioning saw and automatic polisher.
• Gain experience working with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and high-tech microscopes.
