Job summary

Athena Manufacturing is seeking a Material Coordinator Trainee to support the manufacturing floor by ensuring kits and assemblies are stocked and available. You will learn inventory procedures under supervision and help move materials to work stations, maintaining accurate records in the ERP system.

As a trainee, you will gain hands-on experience with M2M and Shop Floor Manager while contributing to warehouse organization, safety, and continuous process improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Grade Equivalency Diploma required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks as described.
  • Desire to learn and grow within the role.

Responsibilities

  • Pull and kit materials per work orders and support production.
  • Stock and organize inventory in assigned locations.
  • Operate forklift to move materials between buildings.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and update ERP records.
  • Support ongoing warehouse organization and safety programs.

Overview

Material Coordinators provide support to the manufacturing floor, ensure kits and assemblies are in stock and available. Maintains accurate records of on-premises materials/inventory and assisting in overall warehouse organization. As a trainee you will work under complete supervision. A Material Coordinator Trainee learns inventory procedures, delivers work kits to work stations based on job requirements, and keeps materials and processes flowing.


Key Responsibilities

(include but not limited to): Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:



  • Pull and kit per work order requirements and support raw material fulfillment for production.

  • Stock all inventory into an assigned location.

  • Moving materials and parts between buildings on a forklift

  • Maximize the use of available storage space by consolidating materials as necessary and rearranging inventory throughout the hardware room as needed.

  • Maintain inventory value and location integrity by ensuring all materials are put in their proper locations.

  • Consolidate materials in the racks as needed. Weigh, count and determine stock locations for new items.

  • Enter product transfers and maintain accurate inventory counts within the database.

  • Learn and utilize M2M daily.

  • Ensure timely and accurate posting into M2M for all inventory activities.

  • Respond to personnel regarding stock inquiries.

  • Perform cycle counts and be proactive with inventory reconciliation and document those results.

  • Investigation of inventory discrepancies, including problem solving for serious and repetitive issues. Recommend and develop ideas for process improvement regarding inventory management.

  • Clean and organize the warehouse, maintain a clean environment throughout the facility.

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential physical requirements pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, include and are not limited to the following:



  • Strength — (Heavy)- Exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

  • Movement- climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, twisting, bending

  • Auditory- talking and hearing

  • Vision-near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, color vision, field of vision

  • Environment conditions and physical surroundings-noise, vibration, atmospheric conditions
