C.H. Guenther & Son, Inc. is seeking a Materials Coordinator to maintain inventory accuracy for products, materials and raw ingredients. This role ensures physical counts align with ERP/LITS, flags discrepancies, and coordinates with Purchasing to monitor high-dollar items and fast-moving goods.

You will support Production in consuming raw materials by FIFO, perform daily cycle counts, and operate RF guns and forklifts as needed. The company emphasizes SQF compliance, safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2 years’ relevant shipping and receiving experience required.
  • 1-2 years' inventory experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience operating Forklift / Industrial Equipment.
  • 1-2 years’ experience using the company’s ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accuracy of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods inventory.
  • Ensure FIFO consumption of raw materials.
  • Report discrepancies to Purchasing and Warehouse Managers.
  • Print/apply pallet tags to all manufactured product.
  • Perform daily cycle counts of raw materials.
  • Operate RF gun and other inventory devices.
  • Ensure SQF, GMP, HACCP compliance and safety standards.

Job description

The Material Coordinator is responsible for the accuracy of inventory of products, materials, and raw ingredients. They will ensure that physical inventory matches system inventory. They will be key in identifying and reviewing inventory discrepancies. Works closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure the inventory of high dollar items as well as materials that are consumed quickly are monitored closely. Will notify the Purchasing Manager and Warehouse Manager if there are any inventory discrepancies. Will work with the Production Department to ensure that raw materials are being properly consumed in Work Orders. Will ensure that raw materials are consumed by FIFO. Investigate and find root cause when inventory issues are found.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Food Safety & Safety: Always perform tasks according to Safety and Food Safety Standards. Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (SQF, GMP, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies and trainings related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations. Accurately reports production totals in the system and for transferring finished product to designated locations in warehouse. Responsible for printing and applying pallet tags to ALL manufactured product. Responsible for verification and reporting accuracy of TGI and inventory control reports (LITS – Lots Inventory Tracking System). Completes and submits daily raw product and finished product inventories needed for production. Supplies the production department with raw and packaging materials. Logs raw materials into the LITS. Responsible for returning leftover materials to the designated place in the warehouse. Responsible for reporting RF gun (Radio Frequency Gun) and label printer issues to the IT Department. Maintains raw and finished product organized and inventory ready and ensures that raw and finished product can be pulled using FIFO. Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor or Team Lead. Responsible for ensuring that the warehouse storage racks, and pallet area are kept clean and always organized, including coolers and freezers. Responsible for removing cobwebs and chipping paint from walls and ceilings. Responsible for actively demonstrating an attitude of willing service and teamwork. Responsible for following and complying with all SQF requirements. Maintains workstations per SQF guidelines. Make sure that the Corn Return Area and Flour Return Area are maintained clear of ingredients both physically and in the system. Remove broken pallets from the Production area. Verify incoming materials meet Internal Specifications (weight, thickness, color) Perform Daily Cycle Counts of raw materials 1-3 different items daily. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education/Certifications and Experience: High School Diploma or GED preferred. 2 years’ relevant shipping and receiving work experience required. 1-2 years' inventory experience preferred. 1-2 years’ experience operating Forklift / Industrial Equipment. 1-2 years’ experience using the company’s ERP system and/ or choice of software. Fluent in English preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must have proficient communications skills both verbal and written. Must have proficient math skills. Must have basic computer skills. Must have basic excel skills. Must have proficient analytical skills. Must have high detail orientation. Must have proficient problem-solving skills. Must have excellent people skills and be able to work in a group. Must be proactive and take initiative. Must have the ability to meet the goals of productivity and efficiency. Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, reach, grasp and work in adverse and awkward positions. Must know how to drive heavy equipment such as Forklift, Electric Lift, Scissor Lift, and Pallet Jack. Must be able to operate a Mobile Scanner Device (RF gun) for inventory tracking and control. Must be an excellent team player. Must be professional in their work activities. Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with little or no supervision. Must be reliable, punctual and have schedule flexibility including working weekends, Holidays, and off-shifts as needed. Must be able to comply with company attendance and punctuality policy. Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner. Must adhere to a drug and alcohol zero tolerance policy. Must be able to comply with and follow all food safety, and third-party certification policies (SQF, Gluten-Free and Organic, etc.)

Working Conditions and Physical Effort: Continual walking and standing on hard surface, continual driving heavy equipment such as Forklifts, Electric Lifts etc. climbing in and out of forklifts, climbing and descending steps. Driving industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, pallet jacks. Continual bending, stooping, reaching, pulling, pushing, and lifting to 50 lbs. Exposed to cold, hot temperatures and noise.
