Job summary

SAIC in Hanahan, SC is seeking a Material Coordinator to manage the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within and between buildings in support of Facilities priorities. You will review production schedules, determine material requirements, arrange transfers, verify material types, and compile reports to keep production on track.

A high school diploma or GED with two years of experience is required; you must lift up to 50 lbs, be proficient in Word, Outlook and Excel, and be a US citizen

• Examine materials to verify type specified for current projects.
• Compute amounts of materials needed for specific job orders.
• Compile reports of quantity and type of materials on hand and coordinate with Facility Staff for repairs and installation of materials.
• Exercise care in the use of company equipment and tools.
• Observe all safety programs and practices.

• Review production schedules and confer with Facilities Staff to determine material requirements.
• Arrange transfer of materials to meet production schedules.
• Examine material(s) to verify type specified for current projects.
• Compute amount of material(s) needed for specific job orders.
• Compile reports of quantity and type of material(s) on hand and coordinate with Facility Staff for the repair and assembly/installation of facilities unique material.
• Exercise care in the use of company equipment and tools.
• Observe all safety programs and practices.

Required Education and Experience

• High school diploma/GED equivalent and two (2) years of experience.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Tools (Word, Outlook and Excel in particular).

Required Security Clearance

• Must be a U.S. citizen able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
