Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a Material Coordinator to manage receipt, staging, and movement of equipment in Anchorage, AK. You will track turn-ins, validate documents, and maintain accurate logs while coordinating with warehouse staff for storage and retrieval of equipment.

The role requires 3–5 years in logistics or materiel management, familiarity with Army docs, and the ability to obtain CAC and background clearance.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; however, equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of logistics, supply, or materiel management experience.
  • Prior Army/contractor experience in equipment turn-in or SSA strongly preferred.
  • Army documentation and condition coding familiarity.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a CAC and background eligibility.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

  • Coordinate with warehouse staff for storage, location management, and retrieval of equipment.
  • Prepare cargo movement requests, shipping documentation, and load plans.
  • Ensure accountability during loading, movement, and offloading of equipment.
  • Serve as liaison between contractor site staff, Army units, and the COR.

AGL is looking for a Material Coordinator to work in Anchorage, AK. To join our team of outstanding professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the receipt, staging, and movement of equipment turned in by Army units.
  • Ensure proper sequencing and prioritization of items for inspection, accountability, and storage.
  • Track status of turn-ins from initial receipt through final disposition.
  • Support high-volume, mass turn-in operations by managing workflow and resource allocation.
  • Review and validate supply documents such as DA Form 1348-1A, DD Form 200, hand receipts, and condition codes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry into Army systems such as GCSS-Army, DPAS, or LMP.
  • Maintain logs, spreadsheets, and reports for daily, weekly, and monthly activity.
  • Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate and compliant material records.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff for storage, location management, and retrieval of equipment.
  • Ensure proper tagging, labeling, and segregation of serviceable, unserviceable, and HAZMAT items.
  • Monitor availability and safe use of material handling equipment (MHE).
  • Work with transportation staff to schedule and track incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Prepare cargo movement requests, shipping documentation, and load plans in accordance with Army and DTR standards.
  • Ensure accountability during loading, movement, and offloading of equipment.
  • Assist unit supply personnel during turn-in to resolve documentation discrepancies.
  • Serve as a liaison between contractor site staff, Army units, and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR).
  • Provide responsive customer service to supported units while maintaining compliance.
Physical Demands & Working Environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform routine standing, walking, bending, and reaching tasks in warehouse and field environments.
  • Must also meet all physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties, including working in extreme heat or cold, high, or low humidity, blowing sand and dust, confined spaces, heights, and other inclement weather conditions.
  • This position involves working both indoors and outdoors, periodic overtime, and exposure to heat, dust, cold, and adverse weather conditions.
Qualifications

  • Prior U.S. Army or contractor experience in equipment turn-in or supply support activities (SSA) strongly preferred.
  • Army supply regulations: AR 710-2, AR 735-5, DA PAM 710-2-1.
  • Army logistics systems: GCSS-Army, DPAS, LMP, TC-AIMS II.
  • Familiarity with Army documentation and condition coding requirements.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and process Army supply documentation.
  • Ability to operate or coordinate safe use of MHE
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with Army units and contractor staff.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must be able to obtain Tier1/ NACI (Public trust) background eligibility.
  • Basic proficiency in the English language (reading and writing).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results.
  • Must have a REAL ID.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Employees may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to travel within the United States as required. This position requires travel up to 25% of the time.
