Job summary

Johnson Matthey in West Whiteland, PA is seeking a Material Controller to safely handle and track precious metal materials while upholding EH&S standards.

You will coordinate with scheduling and logistics to support OTIF deliveries, maintain inventory records, and contribute to continuous improvement within the Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Experience in material handling, warehousing, logistics or manufacturing environments.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance in day-to-day operations.
• Ability to weigh, record and move materials, up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and inventory/MRP systems.
• Clear communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Self-motivated, organized and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support OTIF delivery through coordination with scheduling and logistics teams.
• Ensure materials are packed, stored and transported per security, regulatory and quality standards.
• Carry out routine equipment checks and support basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cross-train across Supply Chain functions.

The role:

• Safely handle, process, weigh and ship precious metal materials in line with EH&S and Life Saving Policies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and transact material movements within JM systems.
• Support on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery of customer orders through effective coordination with scheduling and logistics teams.
• Ensure materials are packed, stored and transported in compliance with security, regulatory and quality standards.
• Carry out routine equipment checks and support basic maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cross-train across Supply Chain functions.

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role:

• Experience in material handling, warehousing, logistics or manufacturing environments.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance in day-to-day operations.
• Ability to accurately weigh, record and physically move materials, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable using Microsoft applications and learning new inventory or MRP systems.
• Clear communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Self-motivated, organised and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset.
