JTEKT North America is seeking a Material Handling Production Technician at our Vonore, TN manufacturing plant. In this role, you will support production by moving and delivering materials to ensure efficient operations.

Qualifications

We have an opportunity in our Vonore, TN manufacturing plant for a Material Handling Production Technician. In this role you will be an essential part of our production team, responsible for moving, organizing, and delivering materials to support production operations and keep lines running efficiently. Summary/Purpose

Responsible for operating and monitoring machining and automated manufacturing equipment to produce parts that meet quality, safety, and production requirements. The Production Technician loads components, monitors machine operations, performs inspections, and supports continuous improvement while rotating through multiple machining processes.

Essential Duties and Accountabilities
  • Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently
  • Complete Kanban orders for material quantity and deliver to assigned assembly, machining, powder coat or hose assembly lines
  • Scan Kanban cards to relieve inventory
  • Ensure material is properly identified
  • Follow FiFo System
  • Comply with company PPE requirements
  • Maintain inventory accuracy
  • Report concerns to Team Leader
  • Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.
  • Maintain 5s
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work without close supervision
  • Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems
  • The above may be waived by the department Manager and the Human Resources Manager if the candidate is otherwise qualified.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma
Work Environment/Physical Demands
  • Ability to walk approximately 6-7 miles over an 8-10 hour day
  • Ability to stand for duration of shift; perform repetitive motions while walking or standing
  • Ability to twist, press, turn, assemble, and handle components and/or assembled parts 350-450 times per shift
  • Ability to pinch, reach, grasp, bend, lift, stretch, push, pull, and squat
  • Ability to visually inspect parts and machines and read instructions, labels
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 32 pounds
  • Maintain a minimum of 8 hours worked/day, 5 days/week
