Job summary

Job description

Join to apply for the Material Bonder B - 1st shift role at Bell Flight

Work Performed:

  1. Performs routine or semi-routine operations required to prepare aircraft parts or articles for the material bonding process. Works from blueprints, drawings, or oral instructions to assemble, locate, and align parts in the correct position and sequence.
  2. Cleans, scrapes, sands, or grinds rotor blades or airfoil sections using hand tools or powered equipment, including tasks like cleaning, applying treatments, removing excess materials, masking, taping, drying chemically treated areas, and finishing to specified dimensions. Checks forms to ensure all operations are completed.
  3. Selects and mixes bonding agents, applies them according to procedures, and performs minor rework, fitting, or trimming as needed.
  4. Makes up pressure bags, seals edges for leaks, and uses various production aids such as jigs, fixtures, and tools.
  5. May assist Material Bonder “A”.

Tools and Equipment Used:

  • Hand tools, jigs, fixtures, clamps, templates, measuring instruments, safety gloves, bonding agents, power grinding and sanding equipment, measuring devices.

Experience and Other Requirements:

  1. Minimum six months experience performing similar work or equivalent experience at Bell or in related roles such as aircraft painter, cleaner, patternmaker, upholsterer, or aircraft assembler.
  2. Successful completion of the Advanced Composite Fabrication Course (T220) at Bell is also acceptable.
