Job Description

The Material Area Supervisor leads hourly teams responsible for unloading, storing, and delivering materials to support production in an automotive manufacturing plant. Responsibilities include:

• Leading safety, delivery, cost, quality, and morale of teams.
• Developing team leaders to meet corporate standards and transforming material delivery processes for increased productivity and reduced costs using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles.
• Ensuring inventory and record accuracy while maintaining positive relationships with management and union employees.
• Managing multiple teams in a fast-paced, high-volume union environment.
• Coordinating daily activities to meet business metrics and implementing WCM tools related to material flow.
• Overseeing and developing high-performing teams of Team Leaders and Members, practicing leadership principles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least 1 year of plant and supervisory experience.
• Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Availability for any shift.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members.
• Experience working in a union environment.
• Strong background in LEAN manufacturing systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
