RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a materials engineer in McKinney, TX to support material analytical testing, documentation, and process improvements. You will work onsite with senior engineers and production teams on material verification against drawings and specifications.

The role requires a STEM degree and experience with analytical instruments, CAD, and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related (STEM) major obtained by start date.
• Experience with material analytical instrument.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Support material analytical testing, documentation update, and handling identification.
• Work cross-functionally with Material and Process Program leads, Program Engineers, and Production representatives on material inquiries.
• Perform empirical material testing that mimics program use-case conditions and initiate data-driven improvements.
• Resolve day-to-day technical problems on production lines to minimize disruption.
• Conduct a wide array of materials verification for compliance with drawings, specifications, and program applications.
• Completes drawing designs as required to facilitate the engineering process.

• Work closely with Senior Engineers to support material analytical testing, packaging and handling identification, material documentation update and maintenance.
• Work cross-functionally with Material and Process Program leads, Program Engineers, and Production representatives to support varieties of material related inquiries.
• Perform empirical material testing that mimic program use-case condition, initiate data-driven material and design ameliorations.
• Resolve day-to-day technical problems on the production lines to minimize disruption.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
